New York City is a safe place to live, contrary to what many people may think. With 8.4 million inhabitants, it is the most populated city in the United States and is the safest big city according to the FBI. Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection rates New York City as the ninth safest city in the world, just after Paris. The overall risk is medium and some high-risk areas that you probably won't go to anyway as a tourist.

When it comes to big cities, New York is safer than places like Philadelphia, Chicago and Detroit, but there's still a lot of danger in a city with nearly nine million people. You can't take personal safety lightly here, but you shouldn't be afraid to visit one of the most dynamic places in the world either. Yes, it may have a reputation for crime, of all kinds, but New York is almost as safe as any other major city in the Western world. That means that maybe incomplete areas at night mean robberies; it also means pickpockets and small-time thieves in tourist areas.

It's the only city of its kind outside of Asia, and most people love it, even if they don't choose to live here. Overall, it's a pretty low-key place, lacking tourist attractions, which is good if you're planning to live here. If you stay in New York City properly, you'll have quick access to all the major points of interest. New York City is also known as the Big Apple or Manhattan, and Philadelphia is often called the City of Brotherly Love.

Some areas are a bit dirty and may smell bad (especially parts of the city center, which I avoid) due to the high population density and the constant flow of tourists and workers, but other areas are simply beautiful, charming and extremely safe. And in New York, as in most big cities, you'll want to avoid walking through incomplete areas. One of the most important parts of Manhattan for the rich and famous, Tribeca is one of the safest neighborhoods in all of New York. The NYPD is very visual throughout the city, but excellent measures must also be taken to protect their personal safety. Occasionally, they may receive a hurricane that hits the East Coast, although it almost always degrades to a tropical storm when it hits New York City.

There's no doubt that Uber is safe in New York, but be sure to compare the information in the app with that of the car (and driver) that appears. This is one of the most difficult questions to answer because you will find information that promotes the South Bronx as the safest place to visit and other information that indicates that it is a place that should be avoided at all costs.
